Save Money On Your Energy Bill This Winter

Temperatures get down right brutal in Minnesota winters, driving heating bill costs higher and higher. But there are some steps you can take to run your heat efficiently and save some money!

-Remove A/C window units from the windows

-Keep windows closed

-Keep your thermostat between 65 & 70 degrees

-Open blinds to let the sun in, close them at night

-Close off rooms you do not use to minimize the space you heat

-Get insulated or heavy curtains for drafty windows

-Replace or clean your furnace filter every three months or when they appear dirty. Clogged filters can cause your system to work less efficiently.

-Use space heaters wisely by directing heaters towards people, not spaces, and keep flammable materials away.

-Keep interior doors open to help air circulate more freely and maintain constant heat and cooling levels.

-Run a ceiling fan in a clockwise direction to push warm air down from the ceiling to add comfort and savings.
