Need Help Paying For Your Winter Energy Bills?
The leaves are falling, temperatures are dropping, and fall colors are in full swing, which means winter will be here before we know it! Minnesota winters provide plenty of challenges, and winter heating bills could be one of them.
But the State of Minnesota Cold Weather Rule helps protect and reconnect heating sources for residential customers who are unable to pay their bill between October 15th-April 15th. In order to qualify for the program, you MUST set up a payment plan with your utility company, otherwise your heat can still be shut off. As long as you abide by the payment pan, you are protected from October 15th-April 15th. Payment plans are based on household income.
